William "Wild
Bill" R. Warzonek
Jan 10, 1960 — Dec 20, 2019
William "Wild Bill" "WWW" Robert Warzonek, 59, of Orr, MN passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019.
Bill was born on January 10, 1960 to Edward and Susan (Friedges) in Cook, MN. Bill was raised at Myrtle Lake Resort with his parents and seven siblings. He attended Orr High School, graduating in 1978. Bill met his long-time love Laura Roivanen in 1987; they were blessed with two daughters, Hailey and Jillian.
Bill was a self-made man. He worked as a snow plower, logger, body-man and welder. In the last year, Bill enjoyed working and spending his spare time at Myrtle Lake Resort. Bill worked hard, but also played hard. He had a wicked sense of humor and was an animated story teller. He enjoyed gathering with his dear friends at the local watering hole to tell them about his latest adventure. He enjoyed football and always showed his support for the Green Bay Packers. Bill loved the outdoors and most of his pastimes reflect that. He enjoyed spear fishing at his ice shanty, taking long boat rides on his favorite lakes, Myrtle and Kabetogama, spending time at his cabin, snowmobiling on local trails, and camping and fishing with friends.
Bill, in a sense, was a man who was "one with nature"; he had a great sense of pride that he was able to live "off grid". He was a person who believed that you did not need money to be happy in life and to be thankful for what you have.
Bill was a person who people, young and old alike, were drawn too. He had a special place in his heart for animals, young children, and the elderly. He would go out of his way to do special things like boating over a large ice-cream sundae for the kids to enjoy on the beach or shovel snow and bring meals to the elderly.
Bill was loved and treasured by his family. He will be remembered as a man "with a heart of gold and a wild, kindred spirit. Anyone who was lucky to spend time with him knew any event would be a great adventure. He had a contagious laugh and a unique whistle he used while telling stories. He was one-of-a-kind, and his helpful and caring nature will be remembered and missed".
Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Susan; his brother-in-law: Jim Shuster; his dear friend: Jim Holman; and his dog and best friend: Rainy.
Bill is survived by the mother of his children Laura Roivanen, his two daughters, his pride and joy: Hailey Warzonek (Thomas Becker) of Hibbing, MN; and Jillian Warzonek (Chris Sharon) of Superior, WI; six sisters: Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Wawrzonek of Orr; Mary Sue (Randy) Lastovich of Chisholm; Jean (Harry) Wertman of Midland, MI; Judie Shuster of Greaney; Kathy Anderson of Green Bay, WI; and Margaret (Al) Burney of Ostego, MN; one brother: James (Rose) Warzonek of Coon Rapids, MN; along with many nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and his cat Harvey.
