William Lee Purdy, 88, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 21, 2023.

Bill was born in Orr, MN on August 11, 1934 to Christine and Frank Purdy. Bill married Maxine Hall in Orr on August 23, 1952. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last summer. They moved to Apache Junction, AZ and have lived there the past 22 years. Bill loved music and played the accordion since he was 12, and later learned guitar. He and Maxine sang and entertained friends and family for years. Bill worked for Abramson Construction/KGM for 58 years before he retired.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Maxine; daughter Teresa DuMarce; son Jeff (Wendy) Purdy; grandchildren: William Purdy, Tiffany (Jethro) Davis; great-grandsons: Jacob Davis and Logan Davis; and many special nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Christine and Frank Purdy; sisters: Maxine (Andy) Hill, and Zona Gale Purdy; brothers: Ray (Helen) Purdy and Curt (Lavern) Purdy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Orr, MN at the Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00am. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 9:00am at the church. Lunch and fellowship will continue immediately after the service at the American Legion in Orr, MN.
