William (Bill) Bell, 82, of Tower, MN, passed away on November 27, 2022, in his beloved cabin, surrounded by family.  Father of Sharon (Eric) Haupfear, Deborah (David) Harrison, and Lynn (Michael) Longhauser; beloved grandfather to Isabel, Chloe, and Samuel Haupfear, Mikayla, Rebecca, Elisha, Alyssa, and Karena Harrison, and Sophia, William, and Anna Longhauser.  He will be dearly missed by many family, friends, and beloved pets.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carol J. Bell.

Bill will be remembered for his hilarious antics, animated storytelling, and masterful ability to add humor to any serious photograph.  Bill proudly served as a lieutenant and paramedic for 21 years with the Glenview Fire Department in Glenview, Illinois.

Since the 1950s, Bill and Carol spent time at Lake Vermilion and, beginning in 2004, spent summers here, eventually becoming full-time residents at the cabin.  Bill loved talking with his Sundling Road friends, First Baptist Cook family, and the many relatives and family that spent summers at the lake.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Cook, MN., on December 22, 2022 at 11:00am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
